To be in the buff or to not buff.
Okay, I have a qualm. I am thinking of taking a few nights as a life model but should I do this will I be marred for life as the girl who takes her clothes off for a living or as someone confident enough to get their socks off and pose?

I am so racked with indecision that I'm asking you my friends to help, what would you think?

It's £9 an hour for probably 3-4 hours a sitting should the artist like me. Also I would be arranging that I could do topless poses first and all work should be tasteful i.e no up the end of nowhere poses! I refuse to do erotica and yes, I've classified to myself only what this means for others it can be different.

So, opinions?

Present demeanor: bouncy
Contemplative tunes: Weird sexual electro jazz stuff that Benn's playing... ack!

it depends on who your thinking about. If you want to pose topless or not or really whatever it's not going to make much of difference to how a view you then then generally say good for you, assuming it is generally good for you. Say getting you money and positive condiferdence feedback.
I not going to condem people for taking there clothes off for money, i probably would (but no one asks me :-( )

So go girl.

I'd say that the only person you need to convince is yourself. You've obviously thought about it and set limits on what you are willing to do, so go for it. If you don't like it, then that's fine. Chalk it up as experience and move on.

With those limits you've set, that can only be considered as confidence.

and at Nine Quid an hour, you'll be earning more hourly rate than me!

Why is nudity so taboo in our society?

Ultimately you should go for it if you want to do it, otherwise don't. As for how others feel about it I can't say, but my oppinion is that it doesn't make the least bit of difference.

I'd totally do it!
(Seriously, if they want more models then, well, I'm looking for a holiday job...)

On a more serious note, if it's something you're happy in yourself doing then I'd say go for it. No-one who's worth being friends with is going to judge you for it (in my humble opinion, anyway).

remarkably hard work, staying still.

having spent far, far too long doing life drawing*, my opinion is pretty biased, I suspect. I dont consider life modelling to be erotica in the slightest - it's so far removed from flashing bits for any titillation that it's not really a relevant worry.

* (must resist any Pratchett-isms, however, about sometimes even having paint on the brushes)

I think its a sign of confidence and if you're comfortable with it then there are no draw backs! :)
